I finally started a LHW(long-handled weapon) sera build in UW. At the moment she is lvl 37 and doing pretty good in silver servers. So far, the best LHW I have found is Orla's Spear of Fright.I don't have the complete set, yet.
Skills I chose are:
LHW
Concentration
Weapon Lore
Constitution
Heaven Magic
Agility
Armor
For lvl 50, debating between Parry and Magic Lore
I pumped LHW til I reached max attack speed, Concentration is almore maxed, as well as Weapon Lore. Constitution, Agility, and Armor I have at half lvl. Heaven Magic, I have onlyput a point or 2 into. I took Heaven Magic in case I decided to use rbol(rotating blades of light), so I could have a shorter cast time. If I use rbol, plan to just pump it high and put it in a combo and make sure I carry around a few concentration pots. I figure rbol might be a good idea to have in case I get overswarmed. However, I am trying to keep this build as much melee as possible.
Ca's I am using - Attack, once in a while rbol, and possibly strength of faith down the road. For ranged attacks, I am just running after the critters, bashing them as I can. Plan to use combat jump to take care of them, later. Right now I am trying not to read any runes that I absolutely don't need.
As for attibute points, I put most into physical regeneration. I put a few into strength when I was using a staff that had a damage modifier based on strength.
I have read and heard that quite a few people are having trouble with a LHW sera. The other day on the servers, someone made a comment that they screwed up and chose LHW on their sera. I was playing mine at the time and not having any trouble. While I am not sure what the problem is for everyone having trouble, maybe something in this will help. Two of the most important things I have learned about melee seras - Make sure you are hitting very often and have lots of leech. Imo, it is harder to make the sera into a tank that can take anything than it is to make her into a killing machine. I have messed up a number of sera builds by worrying more about defensive skills and strategies than I worried about damage output. The sera is weak and can be easily killed, but build her right(or well) and she can dish out more and faster than the critters can .
If I missed anything or anyone has questions, opinions, etc, feel free to post them. :)
