Hi ALL - more on the Wood Elf Unicorn Exp issue.

I started a new Woody for Aden and now she is at level 72.

Previously, Aden had another Wood Elf and I made the mistake of pumping up his Unicorn too high. So much so that when the Unicorn killed monsters, I only got 1 experience point for the kills.

However, this time I have made the Unicorn at around half Toon level, approx 32 and wow, the Unicorn gets almost the same Toon experience points for kills.

So, I'm probably not telling you all anything new, but I didn't know this fact.

This brings me to another point that I would like to raise.

There should be a sticky which covers issues like these. Newby character building tips.

Another one which I didn't know was that the more runes you read the less runes drop from monsters.

Aden's new Woody is a rune finding machine. At level 72 she has only ready about 15 runes total. Presently, 1 out of every 3 monsters drops a rune. She finds so many I quickly run out of room.

This explains why my level 157 Daemon hardly ever finds runes (magic find around 150) because she has read a truck load of runes.

There is also the Fads Axe ring trick that also works for other skills you don't take - like Blade Lore for the Dark Elf.

Another tip would be not to take duel wield for a Glad if you want maximum damage output.

I'm sure there are a lot of other character building pointers that I don't know about.

All the guides I have read on Character Class building, do not mention the above at all.

I hope that this post has raised a few pointers for anyone considering a new Toon.

I really appreciate it when someone like you, who knows how to makes great toons, shares what they have learned with the rest of us. Omi's Fad axe + Blood Kiss was another gem. I agree that there should be a thread stickied with all the different kinds of hints and tricks to getting the most out of our toons, especially in the beginning, but also for those at a higher level.
I'd very much like to see one thread where everyone that wants to can put in what they have picked up while experimenting with their toons.
I know there are a number of Frosty's build Guides, but for this one I am envsioning more of an ecclectic mix.
Time will tell if this will happen, but your post here is a great beginning. Well done my friend! :)

Ok peeps your wish is our command. I know there are many posts on toon builds hidden amongst the myriad of posts in the Scared area. I will add a sub forum to the Sacred Forum exclusively for build info. As I and other members of the staff get time we will try and dig out older posts and move them to the new sub forum.

Furthermore - the rate of experience gained by Unicorns may not be related to Toon level but monster level.

Apparently, every rune read for Unicorns adds 5 levels.

So if you read too many runes the Unicorn level will be much higher than the monsters levels. This may account for poor experience gains.

I'll have to do some testing and see what unfolds.
