Have the Greedy Dwarves of Ancaria (GDA TM) scoured the entire game?

As noted on the SIF, the best spots seem to be:

a) Orc Cave
b) Mounted Shaddar Rim-church-area west of Zhurag-Nar portal

But refus has noted that with a high disarm (or whirlwind) you can find amazing items ripped out of monster's hands or ripped off their backs (full sets of SET (green) armour).

Is there any truth to DSR's theory that Meg Anid's (the snow-causing WE set) drops more frequenlty on snow covered ground?

Or that Thar Eross drops better in the Meadow North of Timberton?

Whats' the pattern? (I'm getting excited about making a Greedy Dwarf now. Forget (one of) Forge/Trade. I'm thinkin' GREED!)

Why forget forge or trade? You can max trade and forge and get a good level of greed as well - all on top of full Thar-Eross! This isn't at all difficult :) .

The only thing i noticed with my niob max greed dwarf is that he gets his best drops from the dry river run killing skelly mages.

For me different toons seem to find better items in different areas. Dwarf at the dry river run and my vamp finds the best stuff at Purgatory.

My Plat Daemon gets the best drops at Shaddar Nur. This is especially true for set rings and BM items. Seven Mammon Armors have dropped in the past few days. Second best spot is Purgatory. Her MF has dropped from 200 to 77 but SB of 86% is helping out.

My greed dwarf(only got to level ~100 though) loved the orc cave. Got tons of drops there, including my full thar eross set. I'd get around 2-4 set/unique items per run through the orc cave. It was very nice.

Lol, my small lvl 60 muler/trader mage could need a low mammons armor to push trade skill a bit higher..

hehe, if i have had a mammons+ring gogo would have received much more +magic dmg% rings last time i shopped for him :p

edit:
you all know how much i 'like' mf-droptable-loot-hunting ground-discussions .... it's 90% subjective and nearly un-proveable..

But sure, i also have my favourite areas i send my mf dwarfs to:
Orc Cave and Ghost FOREST :)

Why? due to the force of habbit...
OC has it's numerous orc bosses of which we all know give better drops than normal orcs.
i usually go to GF when i want to make cash very fast (amulets are best to collect, only requiring one inv-slot each but with a very high price on sale)

After more than 18 days total PT on my dwarf, the only thing i can say.. with a dwarf, using greed in GF the frequency of occurence for Sun Amulets and Berenikes Soul is UNUSUAL high, really.
when i go to GF and if i'm lucky finding any unique jewellry there - then i only got a small percentage of all available amus/rings.. but those i find, are dropping over and over again... always the same, no matter what time, how much players, etc etc.

So yes, i still believe in drops beeing just... random after all.
But i can't get rid of the (not indetermined at all) strong suspicion that the random generator sometimes.. just don't work properly - like the existing variety in possible drops - is just not there, or stucked - limiting the actual loot to a small percentage of total droptable

Just a thought to the churners (people who's toons keep getting the same set of drops, over and over, and over...in the same areas):

Drop some MF off. Switch out some (significant) amount of your MF. And see if you get completely different items...or just less often.

That would tell a VERY BIG TALE about how MF and drops really interact.

Gargh! Here I go again!!! ...Wanting yet another build...right now I want a high level sera AND a high level Greedy Dwarf AND a high level Vamp Summoner AND... you get the picture! ;)

Let's meet in open, and we could train the unskilled lvl 100 chars there a bit ;)
