I'm not satisfied with my current Sera in HC. She can stand her ground in VoT silver but I fear for the worst once I have to take her to gold. I had attempted a hybrid, slashing and using supporting RBoL and CL. But defense values and resistances become so high she hits only one out of four strikes, I'm really depending on my RBoL. Sadly she has no Meditation, so casting others spells is a danger in VoT as my RBoL might not have regenerated once it wears of, especially with those pesky Pods nearby. If I remember correctly she has Magic Lore, Weapon Lore, Heavenly Magic, Armor, Parrying, Sword Lore, Constitution and Concentration. Many points had gone to Weapon Lore which probably would have been better spent in Heavenly Magic (Magic Lore is maxed) and my attributes now all go to Mental Regeneration, but a in the past I have divided between Strength, Physical Renegeration (for CA's) and Mental. In short, not really satisfying with my current playing style.

So I have started with a new build which focuses on magic only. Basically I just walk into everything with my RBoL and if the mob gets thick I blast them with CL as well. To get full potential I started the Seraphim with blank stats, so no Weapon Lore. So far I have picked Magic Lore, Heavenly Magic, Meditation, Constitution and Armor.

I still will have three skills to pick, which is were I'm going to need input. I'm keeping Magic Lore maxed out, that's my damage dealing. Heavenly Magic and Meditation are there to reduce the regeneration time so I can blast away with CL in support of my RBoL. Armor and Constitution must keep me alive on higher levels. What other three skills to pick? I really do ponder Parrying to increase my defense. I always support my RBoL with a high life leech, but especially on VoT extra defense can't hurt in my eyes. For the same reason I am pondering Agility, but Parrying yields much more result for Defense. Agility gives attack bonus as well, but I'm not doing much with the sword, it's mainly there to boost my stats. Dobster suggested Dual Wield to pick two good swords which boosts my most important stats (Magic Damage, Regeneration of Spells and boni to Heavenly Magic or Meditation). I could pick both Agility and Parrying next to Dual Wield but it seems like a waste of skill to me. So I'm looking for some input here. I'm sure someone will eventually mention Trading, but I've never been a fan of Trading. I have a Dwarf with Trading maxed but I have found out that I do virtually no shopping, so I'm not looking into that direction. Does Riding give useful bonusses? My Sera does use her horse as often as she can, because of the extra quick RBoL casting.

This is basically the build I have, but you should definitely use a horse! I do and she is much tougher, faster, and you will find with some toons casting animations are much faster, and with seras, this is the case. You will love it! Oh, just so you know, I use a shield, but dual maybe better for greater offense.

Sorry, it has been a long time, and I don't remember all the details, but she is very tough. Try and figure out what equipment you may use later on, and choose skills based on those requirements. Parrying would be nice though as one.

Nice post by the way ;)

Thank you.

Dual Prototype swords have already been suggested. I haven't decided, but I must, I'm already level 21 so that "new skill" thingie has been sitting there for two levels now, hehe. I'm pondering Dual Wield and Parrying (as far as I know, Parrying still gives bonus with no shields, just higher bonus when you wear a shield) and then a last skill, maybe Riding if I can improve myself a lot while on a horse.

Alright, I still have two skills to choose. I choose Dual Wielding (right now I'm hacking with Sereish Thunder and Prototype). I don't know what to pick for my last two skills. I pondered a skill to boost my defense. Dobster and I talked and concluded that for a Dual Wielder parrying would give no real extra bonus to defense over Agility.

Penny mentioned that high level jewelry with high life leech often have requisited so that me ponder reconsidering one of the picks I dismissed outright, like Concentration.

She will need as high a LL she can get if she wants to survive the higher levels. I'm not sure how much added value defense will have once I read Platinum, I have a feeling enemies will hit me anyway so any investing in resistance and LL is probably better spent. Any thoughts?

As we talked about last night mate, i checked my sera in niob and her defence boost from parry is laughable:o She gets hit by everything and for parry to be effective it would take a huge investment meaning less to put into other skills.

Riding is a must for her though. A player in niob (thnx ponpon;) ) spawned me a lvl 216 heavy war horse which gives her a 76% health point bonus. I think on her horse this gives her almost 50k health. Coupled with some LL it does mean she can take the hits although her plat armour doesn't really cut it in niob:o

Riding is the one i can definatley recommend but the others are really down to personal choice:)

Hmm, that is certainly worth contemplating. That health bonus coupled with high LL might just make her survive indeed. To what extend should I invest into it?

Riding only needs 25 points to get the best horse. The brown heavy warhorse at the back of the Mystdale castle stables gives the biggest boost to health. It doesn't give the highest speed though, so you will need to find a nice saddle to boost its speed to 220.

The only point to boosting riding any higher is the charge attack. I found this buggy though and it almost killed her once. I tried to charge a big spider but it all went wrong and she got hit very hard:) Needless to say, i didn't bother using that anymore lol

The horse will lvl up with you but it's easier to get a high lvl friend to start the server for you. This will spawn the mystdale horse at there lvl but you can still ride the high lvl horse.
