Did noy pay much attention to that, but today 1 of them showed up without invite in the game D-mol and me was running. Dont missunderstand me, this guy was not a bad guy. But the thing is, it appears the game deals with the recent player list the same way it does with the friends list when it comes to game joining. So is there a way to disable the recent player list? I dont want to manually block others just because they are not members of Clan DA.

We have plans on patching in PvP of course, but in general the only ‘content’ we would patch in would most likely just be new items.

Diablo III will see patches to adjust things like game balance and potential system improvements, but any actual content additions is not something you should expect to see.
that while saving 'new content' like charclasses or more quests / areas for the expansion,
that they will at least seriously consider implementing some important 'convenience / usability ' updates , better sooner than later:
Unless I have overlooked it, I'm missing things like these for example:

* being able to send a chat message to the entire friend list simultaneously..
* link items to forum (as seen in PoE^^)
* send items via chat / mail system directly (as in Mythos, eg.)

but, even if above quote sounds a little 'disturbing', I'm pretty sure, there's a lot of stuff coming for D3, just like there used to, for D2.. I hope...

I wrote this to a friend in an e-mail. Take note, it's a friend who hasn't played DIII (yet) so there's some explanation of the basics and my beef with them. I'm too lazy to rework the text but the essence should be clear:

The word rehash is maybe a bit harsh...but it does have some similitarities. We start out near old Tristram from D1 and visit the church again. We meet the Butcher and as far as I can tell, Gharbad makes an appearance as well as do some more foes from the first game.

My demon huntress is in Act II and we go to a desert region. And apparently Act III takes place in a jungle, sound familiar? Yup, that's D2. Anyway, the game is "unique" enough not to be a rehash but it still has similarities. The DRM parts is a very BIG down point, most gamers on forums and FB seem to agree. The game itself plays nice but there isn't much room to build your characters. You can't allocate any points, not for skills, not for attribute points. You have two mouse buttons and the buttons 1-4. Skills for those can be unlocked. Each skill slot eventually has three skills I think. Every skill also has five runes which are unlocked as you play. And there's three passive skill slots. The first unlocks at level 10 or so, the next at 20. Passive skills unlock like the active skills. So you can't customize anything and the order in which you unlock skills (active or passive) and gems is pre-determined. I would have liked if you can at least make a choice between a few skills and/or gems to give you some kind of flexibility (instead of giving skill A at level 2, B at lvl 3, C at lvl 4 give you to the option to ulnock either A, B or C at level 2, one of the other two at level 3 and so on). So that bums me out greatly also. Diablo was never that much about character building like GW was, but this is extreme. In Diablo we could allocate our attribute/skillpoints (Dexterity etc) and read books to build our spell repertoire. In D2 we still could attribute attributepoints (now called attributes not skills), albeit only one per level or so, and could apply skill points to either unlock new skills according to a skill tree (and some being locked until you reach a certain level) or improve existing ones.

That's all not possible, unlocking goes by level and every damage you do is depending on your weapon, even spells. Especially for wizards that's potentially a weird thing. Find a heavy two handed sword with heavy damage mods and your spells suddenly do a lot of damage. That doesn't seem intuitive. Wizards draw their strength from their abilities and magic mods on items I would see (and yes, a Wizard *can* equip a two handed sword, my starting wizard carries one now).

The only good thing about DIII is that no class is gender specific anymore. I can play all classes as girlie.

But all in all I'm more disappointed than happy with DIII. It's still nice to play otherwise and lorewise it's awesome. But above points still bug me. In retrospect I don't think I would have paid 45 euro for it...I'm VERY glad I didn't try to get the CE.

I'm looking at the achievements for conversations. At the Blacksmith conversations is a conversation "Cain's Dissapearance." I can't get this dailogue. According to the list it should be between "Haedrig's Grandfather" (you get that one after completing the quest where you have to clear out the cellar of sick people) and "Mira" which you get after returning with the crown. I've visited Haedrig several times in between but he's not offering said dialogue.

I need to take my time trying to understand everything and atm I am travelling very, very, slowly with the game, enjoying taking my time discovering stuff.
I did the same with both Sacred games. You just weren't aware of it because both those games had an offline mode. ;)

Don't hesitate to say hi but please don't be offended if I don't want to join a party just yet. It will change shortly, probably once I make a HC toon.
Thanks for understanding. :)

1. When I logged in it said I had several friend requests, but it did not say from who and I could not find any way to accept.. so how do I do that??

2 When I tried to go mp I could only click on public game and that seemed to pick a random running mp game... So how do I get to pick a game to join if I want to join friends online??

3 I reached the first checkpoint and quit, but when I started again I started from the begining So how do i save progress?? I dont plan to play the entire game in 1 sitting.

Edit:Hmm well I Accidently managed to find answer for 1. and for 3. this time progress saved for some reason.

just got this news this morning:

Hope You Didn’t Pre-Order from GAME in Australia

Posted: 14 May 2012 04:54 AM PDT

Grim news from Kotaku Oz, as they report that GAME, a software store that’s gone into receivership (basically the same thing as bankruptcy), is broke, is not receiving many copies of Diablo III, and is not offering refunds on the money they received from software pre-orders.

They’re still delivering the pre-ordered games that arrive, but customers who placed orders that don’t get stocked (as has become very common with the worldwide shortage of D3CEs to fill preorders) are simply out of luck. No game, and no refund.

Due to the appointment of an administrator to our business this morning, it is with regret that I inform you all that our stores will not be receiving any stock of diablo 3. Because of this, we regrettably will be unable to fulfill any pre-orders. Also, we will be unable to refund any deposits paid towards a pre-order of diablo 3. If you need any more info, please email customerrelations@game.com.au

The only option for defunded customers is to apply to become a creditor, just like all the other companies and individuals that GAME owes debts to. Sadly, such creditors are generally paid in pennies on the dollar — naturally; if the company could pay their debts, they wouldn’t be going bankrupt. The Kotaku article provides a link to useful legal information in Australia, if you are among the victimized in this matter.

kinda sucks, espeically announcing it on release day
